What an accomplishment. You all should feel amazing for your hard work and dedication to fighting hunger."

Spirit Week & Bring the Change Fundraiser!

Spirit Week

Monday: Pattern & Penny Day

Tuesday: PJ & Nickel Day

Wednesday: Hat & Dime Day

Thursday: Flannel & Quarter Day

Friday: Blue and White & Any Coin Day!

Pep Rally during callback on Friday & girls basketball home against Montpelier, Friday night!

Please encourage your friends to participate in both spirit week and Bring the Change!

Bring the Change

This week is our winter spirit week and pep rally, and we are also running a fundraiser for the non-profit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society called “Bring the Change.” The fundraiser is a coin drive, so we want you to check your cars, wallets, and bedrooms for any extra change lying around!

You should have gotten small, personal collection boxes from your TA (if not they are in your TA’s mailbox) and you can use these to bring your change in. Your TA also received a flyer on how to set up your own online donation page to receive donations from friends and family under your name, though you can also make donations online under no student name. On Wednesday afternoon, we will be collecting the change as a mid-point, and will aim to beat that number on Thursday and Friday!

December Community Service: CLOTHING DRIVE

The December Community Service Clothing Drive was a huge success! Between TAs and community drop offs, a total of 2745 clothing items were donated!

We would also like to congratulate the following TAs for winning the TA competition:

  1. Mark Chaplin-380 items
  2. Zach Gonzalez-276 items
  3. Michael Horowtiz-146 items

Have any ideas for future service events or how they could be improved? Leave a suggestion in our suggestion box!

What will the Spirit Week spirit wear & coins be each day?

Check back just after Christmas break!

When is this?

The U-32 Student Council & Booster Club will be running the Spirit Week from Monday, January 23rd to Friday, January 27th which is when the Pep Rally will be held as well!

November Community Service: FOOD DRIVE

An In-School Food Drive was run the week of November 14th, and a TA competition was held for who could bring in the most food. That Saturday, November 19th, two Food Drives were held in the community at the Montpelier Farmer's Market and the Hunger Mountain Co-op.

About 15 students participated in the community service event that Saturday, and were very successful!

Between food collected by the TA's, at the Montpelier Farmer's Market, and the Hunger Mountain Co-op we collected for the Vermont Foodbank...

  • 340 pounds of non-perishables
  • ~$435 in monetary donations
  • ~40 pounds of perishables

We'd like to thank all of the students who participated as well as all of those who donated!

Also, Katie Jarvis and Steve Towne's TAs tied with 41 items each, congratulations!
