Tournament Rules Summary

Game time begins upon conclusion of home plate conference

Run rule: 12 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5

Courtesy runners for pitcher/catcher allowed.

Option 1: Runner who has not participated in the game

Option 2: Last batted out


Pool Play:

90 minutes (finish the inning)

Coin toss determines home team

Teams may bat as many as they wish. If there is an injury, you will only take an out if your line-up drops below 9.


Bracket Play:

No new inning after 90 minutes

No time limit on Championship game

Higher seed is home team - Championship Game will be a coin toss

Pool games may end in a tie. ITB will be used for all bracket and championship games.

Seeding: (1) Win/Loss Record (2) Head-to-Head (3) Fewest runs allowed (4) Most runs scored (5) Run differential (6) Coin flip

All other rules will be governed by USA rules of softball. Decisions made on the field of play by umpires will be final.

Games may be shortened, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather if deemed appropriate by the tournament director. Updates will be communicated via the 2019 Tomahawk Toss Remind and the website.

All other decisions and judgements regarding the operation of the tournament will be made by the tournament directors.
