Venzl Border Morris started in Dansvinden, Huddinge, September 2019 with a group of 6 dancers and 1 musician. Since then new dancers have joined us and we are around 12-14 people.

We welcome  any new members, male or female, to come along to our practices on alternate Sundays, 3pm-6pm in Dansvinden Huddinge.

The dance steps are simple  and the dances are lively  and fun.

The dances usually involve 4, 6, or 8 people or more in a series of figures.

No partner or previous experience is needed.

Border Morris originates from the border area between England and Wales and has been danced there since at least 1600's. Traditionally dancing and begging for money was illegal so the dancers and musicians wore ragged clothes and disguised their faces with masks or  blackened them, usually with soot.  We dance in black, ragged clothes, feathers in top hats and black masks.
