Meet the Teacher

Karen holds a master's degree from the University of St. Catherine, a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado, and had a Colorado state teaching license for 12 years. She has been teaching Lower Elementary Montessori for the past 15 years in public and private schools, plus two years at Mountain Montessori. Karen has extensive training and experience in teaching children to read and create a solid mathematical foundation. Her favorite part of teaching is the relationships built that make the classroom feel more like a family than just a classroom. She created Mountain Montessori Homeschool to bring her love of Montessori to her home community in Williams, OR.

Karen is a wife and a mother of two young boys. Karen and her family love their home in Williams, farming, camping, exploring, and being outdoors as much as possible.
