Letters will soon be sent home via Parent Link and Remind regarding our upcoming Winter Concert. The letters provide information regarding what to wear for the concert. Please see the picture below for examples of acceptable black outfits for the Singing Knights. The Chorale should procure solid black, dressy bottom halves and wear their assigned black tunic.

Singing Knights

The Singing Knights have a place for every voice and is designed for students with little or no choral experience. This ensemble comes together to remove themselves from other daily issues that may be burdensome or overbearing and enjoy doing something different. The Singing Knights promote the enjoyment and appreciation of music through the performance of beginning choral repertoire from a variety of times and places. We prepare pieces from Classical to Pop, and Latin to English. We work together to create 2, 3, and 4-part harmonies and learn choral reading fundamentals like critical listening skills, Solfege, Sight-Singing, and Rhythmic Sight-Singing.

There will be two school-time performances. Always check the Calendar Page for dates and details. One school-time performance will be on March 4th, 2024, and the second school-time performance is TBA. There are two required after-school concerts to successfully meet the requirements of this course. The first required after-school concert is the Winter Concert on December 19th, 2023, and the second after-school concert is the Spring Concert on May 16th, 2024. Please make sure the Winter and Spring Concert dates are reserved as they will decide whether the 2nd and 4th quarter grades are passing.

Singing Knights are heavily encouraged to participate in the Extra Opportunity events.

Monarch Chorale

The Chorale is Monarch’s premier vocal ensemble. Students with music, vocal and/or choral experience refine their critical listening skills through the study, rehearsal, and performance of high-quality, advanced literature. Students use reflection and problem-solving skills with increasing independence to improve their performance and musical expressivity. Chorale members are expected to participate in as many of the Extra Opportunities as they can.

The Chorale will give school-time performances throughout the year. These school-time performances may include pep rallies, Broward administrative meetings, and various school-sponsored events. The Chorale will perform three after-school performances at the Winter Concert on December 19th, 2023, our Music Performance Assessment (MPA) on March 7th, 2024, and the Spring Concert on May 16th, 2024.
