- WHO WE ARE -

We are a Registered Charity that provides a safe environment for recovering alcoholics and family members where they can receive information concerning their addiction as well as practical help and support in creating a healthy lifestyle. If you are concerned about your drinking or someone else we are here to help.

- WHO CAN USE THE SANCTUARY? -

Anyone who is over 18 years and who has a problem with Alcohol and wishes to remain abstinent, family members and friends who have experienced the devastation that alcohol can cause to those around them, and professionals who wish to find out more about alcoholism and the model we use.

- REFERRALS -

Referrals can come from any source, doctors, psychologists, probation service, other Agencies, or you may just come to the door or telephone for an appointment. No one is turned away. We will do our utmost to assess you either the next day or as close as possible to the day you contact us.

We do, however require users of The Sanctuary to have 24 hour period of sobriety before they come for assessment. We also carry out a drug and alcohol tests if we are concerned that someone may be under the influence of a mind altering drug and if required we will re-arrange the assessment.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept children and young adults under the 18 to the premises, but we may be able to suggest suitable childcare services.

- COUNSELLING -

One-to-one counselling is carried out through the week. These are fixed appointments, not drop-in sessions. If you are interested please let staff know and we can put your name on the counselling list. There may be a waiting list at times.

We offer clients up to 26 sessions and those who have received no previous counselling have priority over those who have.
