Our school careers programme is supported by the CareerPilot Pathway Planner.
All students from Years 7-11 should be registered on www.careerpilot.org.uk
As they move up through the school, it will be used in their tutorial lessons each year to track their careers education pathway.
Students can look up information on a wide range of jobs and post-16 courses, and take quizzes to encourage them to think about their skills and futures. Everything they show an interest in, and the results of their quizzes, are saved on a personal record which moves up the school with them each year.
The careers team can use these personal records when helping students to choose work experience placements and to help with individualised advice when students are at crucial points in their education, such as in Year 9 when choosing options, or at Year 11 when choosing where to go after leaving Thomas Keble.
Parents and tutors can access similar information on job sectors and post-16 choices, and also view their students' records. Details of students' 1:1 careers guidance sessions are also saved on the personal records from Year 9-11, enabling further discussion about next steps to happen at home or during tutorial sessions when these restart.

Try the Skillsometer quiz below, choosing the emoji which best represents how you feel about each potential job. The jobs are broken down into 6 categories and your answers are ranked against each one. Once you've completed the quiz, you'll be given a short list of job suggestions that are most likely to be suited to your own particular skills and interests. Each job can be explored further as a description is presented together with information on pay and hours, or you can look up the job on CareerPilot.
If there are a couple of jobs you're considering but you can't decide, the Careerometer below can be used to explore and compare key information about occupations.
It shows key UK headline data relating to pay, weekly hours of work and future employment prospects for different occupations, as well as description of the occupation.
Simply type in the title of the job/s you are interested in and the widget provides a series of options from which you can select the most relevant. You can then look up another two occupations and compare. You can also select ‘display the UK average’ and compare the information with the occupation you have selected.
