FLOODS IN HUMPHREYS COUNTY, TN

Over the weekend of August 21st and 22nd, Humphreys County in Tennessee experienced a horrific flash flood. 17 inches of rain fell. Houses, cars, and people were carried away by the strong force of the water. Now, 22 people are dead, many are still missing, and families are without many needed supplies.

How can you help?

Donate Items

Akiva families can send items to school with their students.

  • Humphreys County Agricultural Center, 115 W. Blue Creek, Waverly

  • James Center, 200 Matthews Hollow Road

  • The National Guard Armory, Highway 70, is accepting donations from the community and distributing supplies to those displaced.

  • Hours for drop off and distribution are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • McEwen Church of Christ is set up as a distribution center for clothes, water, food and cleaning supplies.

People interested in volunteering should call (931) 888-8011 or (931) 888-8012 or go to the Dollar Tree Parking lot located at 505 W. Main Street where response agencies are located.
