Spero Behavior Therapy is led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 13 years experience working with children with ASD, developmental disorders, learning disabilities, anxiety, ADHD, and neurotypical children.

Dr. Perkel obtained her PhD in Curriculum & Instruction from Mercer University in 2012. She completed her ABA certification through Florida Institute of Technology and is certified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She is dual-certified in the State of Georgia in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She has experience teaching Pre-K through 5th grade and graduate students at the university level.

In 2016, Dr. Perkel developed the Therapuetic Learning Clinic at the Autism Center, Navicent Health. She is trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System, TEACCH Level I & II, and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule II (ADOS-II), which is the gold-standard diagnostic tool for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
