Welcome to Wilfert Farms!

We are a mid-sized family farm operating in Manitowoc County, WI, which is in east central WI just a few miles off Lake Michigan's west coast. Quality vegetables are our business, our ONLY business. No other outside employment. We dedicate ourselves to being the best at what we do, and we make our money the old-fashioned way, we earn it!

My name is Dave Wilfert, and I, along with my wife Terri, run Wilfert Farms. Both Terri and I come from strong farming backgrounds, and I guess you could say 'Farming is in our blood'. From young on, we grew up raising calves and milking cows on our families' dairy farms. We learned about commitment, dedication, and getting the job done.

Upon graduation from high school, we both attended four-year colleges. Terri, attained a degree in Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Dave received his degrees in Marketing and Economics from UW-Oshkosh. Dave was already farming and raising processing carrots when they wed in 1989. Together, the Wilfert Farms fresh market business was about to take off. Starting with fresh market asparagus, and the now infamous 'peas-in-the-pod', the Wilfert Farms Fresh Market was off and running! Over the past 35 years, the farm market has continued to grow. Our reputation is based on the quality of the homegrown produce that we sell. We control every step of production from planting to harvesting. To add to the quality of our produce, it is hand picked, hand washed and hand sorted, and can be on your table just hours after it has left the field. Compare this to machine harvested produce that has left the field 4 days earlier and is just reaching the shelves in your local grocery store. There is a difference!

Today we offer a full line of produce from 'A'sparagus to 'Z'ucchini that is grown on our family farm right here in Manitowoc County, WI. The next generation of Wilferts, our son, Ryan, and our daughter, Kelly, assume duties and responsibilities as they learn about the family produce business on a first hand basis. Not only will you receive the finest produce available, but you will also get a refreshing view of tomorrow's adults if you get a chance to visit with these young farmers. We hope you will stop by soon. Over the years many people have, and have become not only frequent customers, but also cherished friends! We may not be the biggest, but we're always trying to be the best! We hope to see you soon!
