1890's bowlers on Stamford Recreation ground, precursor to our present club.

Stamford Town Bowls Club with over a hundred years of distinguished history remains a progressive, ambitious and yet harmonious club with teams which suit all levels of ability. Situated just off Exeter Gardens on the huge open sports field of Empingham Road, we have a 6 rink x 6 rink playing green, direction of play is rotated on a regular basis

Our membership includes 2022,2021 & 2019 Northants Ladies triples champions (Ann Holmes, Linda Starbuck, Helen & Moira Holroyd).2018 Northants County mixed pairs Champions (Ann Holmes and Richard Allam), and English National under-25 Ladies Champion Helen Holroyd. 2022 Northants Mens triples champions (Richard Allam, John Holroyd & Kevin Vinter) and they and others who play for County teams encourage and advise our novices.

Regular features of our season are Stamford and District League matches on a Monday and Friday evening and we have three teams in this League, matches are played to E.B.F. rules.

We also have a team in each of the Peterborough, Club 55 league and weekend league; matches are played on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons and are played to World Bowls rules.

At the start of the season Friendly matches are played on Wednesday afternoons In addition we hold a club roll up on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, plus individuals can roll up any time there is not a match being played. (Roll ups are at no cost ).

Club Competitions include a number of tournaments and two Gala Days per season.

So there is plenty of bowling available and one can play as much or as little as one would wish
