I Love Little People Montessori because of the love and care that they give to each student. The teachers and the administration are superb and a honor to know. The children who begin with this school experience have a jump start on life!

Little People Montessori Academy is an amazing school run by caring teachers that are passionate about helping their students excel. I have had the pleasure of knowing Regina Leflore for a few years now, and she is one of a kind. I recommend everyone enroll their children here if they want a loving nurturing environment!

I have had my son at Little People Montessori for almost three years, and I have watched him grow to become such a smart and well behaved and respectful little boy right before my eyes! The teachers and staff are very invested in my son's education and truly care for his well being and growth that we consider them part of our family! I am eternally grateful for everything they do to help my son grow and blossom into such a smart and good boy, they go out of they're way to make sure my son has the best attention and care possible! I would recommend Little People Montessori in a heartbeat to any parent looking for a daycare/school for they're son/daughter!!! It is very much worth the investment for they're education and overall growth! See More

As a first time mom, I was apprehensive to send my then 11 month old to daycare. I had heard so many horror stories and was adament that I didnt want my kids going to daycare. But when our childcare situtation drastically changed, I knew that we were going to have to do something different, something that I wasnt too comfortable with. However, when I first met Michelle from LIttle People, a lot of my apprehensiveness diminished. Michelle really took the time to walk us around and show us everything that Little People has to offer. The teachers (Ms. Maria, Ms. Terie and Ms. Gino) are wonderful with the little ones. Very patient with an 11 month old who, until then, was watched only by family and cried during the drop off/pick up times. Now our daughter is 14 months old and LOVES going to school. She leaps into the teacher's arms once we get there in the morning. The staff is so attentive and caring. I am so happy with the care that they have provided.

I have seen this school from the inside and I have to tell you how impressed I am with them. The school really put an emphasis on quality for their children. They have healthy lunches brought in fresh every day, take daily walks through Riverside and go to the park (weather permitting of course).

The owner is really focused on teaching healthy lifestyle habits and helping the children reach their fullest potential. They also have a weekly fitness program that the children just love.

It is certainly the best school in the Lyons/Riverside area in my opinion!

My daughter has been at Little People Montessori for two years, from age 3-5, and she loves it and so do we.

The school is well organized, businesslike, and safe. They have an administrative person who effectively handles all the billing and communications. Moreover, the director is responsive to parents’ concerns: Our daughter was having behavior problems this fall, and the director and teachers worked with us to develop a (successful) plan to address them. As a result of this attention, the parents at the school are happy.

The kids are happy because the teachers are outstanding. Instead of letting the kids color all day, the lead teachers make sure the kids are stimulated and engaged. They are patient and loving with all the kids, even the ones who are more challenging. As a result, you almost never see kids crying when they are dropped off, even in the littler kids’ room. There has been no turnover among teachers in the time my daughter has been there, which I think is unusual, and important to providing a stable environment.

They just added an exercise program once a week, to keep the kids moving, which demonstrates that they are not just on autopilot, but constantly trying to improve.

I would not hesitate to recommend this school.

My daughter Athena L-O-V-E-S it here. She just started this semester and is very excited to go. Everyday she asks "is it a school night?" she is so excited to go to school. Her teachers Ms. Abby, Ms. Maria and Ms. Vesta are so sweet and gentle with the kids. Even though the facility isnt very modern, its very organized, clean, many of montessori puzzels and games to play with and it simply full of love and good energy. She, loves the fact that they have fish and a frog in the classroom. Athena has serious peanut allergies and they are VERY mindful of it and I feel very good about leaving her there. The owner Regina and her assistant Michelle are great about letting you come and sit in on a class to check it out, which is what we did. My husband and I toured 2 schools in Oak Park, but we choose LPMS because the staff were so much more friendly. THANKS LPMS!!

Pros: Wonderful staff, classes, kids from all ethnicities. We love it!

Cons: none!

“I have three children attending Little People (a 5-year-old, 2.5-year-old and a baby almost 4 months) and they love it. The staff is very loving and there is very little turnover. (Which is a good indication of how happy they are with their work.)

When my oldest daughter started here she was 2.5-years old. At that time, her favorite Montessori work was doing sounds. She sounded out and read her first word when she was 3.5-years old. At 4 years old she was able to read Beginner Reader books on her own. She is now attending their Kindergarten program a year early because the Directress of her room felt she was ready for the challenge. In fact, it was the school owner who called me to see if I would let her attend, not me asking to get her in the program.

My middle child started as an infant. As a baby, she would jump into her caregiver's arms when I dropped her off in the morning. Now, at 2.5-year-old told, she told me over the Christmas Holiday that she wanted to go back to "school" to play with her friends. I love to watch her roll her matt and put her work away at the end of the day. It is just so precious. I am constantly amazed at the things she is able to do on her own.

And my baby who just started going there is the happiest most content baby I have ever seen. (OK, so I am a little biased where he is concerned....) The transition from being home with me 24-7 to daycare was a breeze. He showed no signed of separation anxiety and in fact, has been sleeping better at night since he started daycare.

I am so thrilled that I found such a loving and educational place for my children.”

“My daughter is in the kindergarten class at LPMS. She has been attending LPMS since right after it opened. I can not tell you enough about how she and I both love this school. I wish it went beyond kindergarten. She started going there because the previous daycare she was attending gave her peanut butter. She is extremely allergic to peanut butter. LPMS worked with me in such a way that I never worried about my daughter being in danger again. I will never forget them for that.

The teachers are wonderful. Since my daughter has attended there for quite some time, I have never run into an unpleasant experience ever. I have watched new children start there over the years and it amazes me every time. A crying child not wanting to leave his/her parent and then swoosh...you would never believe that was the same child only in a short period of time...like a week or so. Every teacher has a way about them.... a peace, a kindness, a caring way. The children pick up on this quickly and it makes it such a harmonious atmosphere. The owner is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met and I intend to keep in touch with her after my daughter graduates kindergarten.

Besides all of that, my daughter is way past any other child I know, her age or even older, academically. They certainly impresses me as I watch my 5 year old daughter read everything and anything. We are truly blessed to be able to attend this school. It will be a sad day when my daughter has to move on to 1st grade somewhere else.”

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT spot for educating young children. Teachers are knowledgeable and love working with the children. Owner is very easy going and respectable. I give this school TOP HONORS! MY child has attended since she was 8 weeks old and in my opinion she is smart because of this school and their practices. I HIGHLY recommend this school to anyone wanting only the BEST for their children.

Thanks Regina and Little People Montessori!
