Cotter Block Plots

This area is located on the Cotter Road, near the Canberra Equestrian Park, about 1 kilometre west of the intersection of Lady Denman Drive and Cotter Road.

It was established by Canberra's Parks and Gardens under the direction of Lindsay Pryor, Bob Boden and others in the mid 1960s, and used to test the suitability of trees for planting in Canberra. It contains a wide range of both hardwood and softwood species.

Unfortunately, many of the trees are suffering from lack of water and fire has also caused quite extensive damage.

Many of the original plantings have died.
