About Us
'Clapper Chaos' are a Poole based handbell group. We currently have 4 members - Tim Rose, Sas Watson, Fiona White and Eleanor Wallace - between us playing 36 bells (3 chromatic octaves) and 25 handchimes (2 chromatic octaves). The set of bells were refurbished in 2012 by Mr Ian Hayes of Okehampton and since added to expanding the range from 2 to 3 octaves.
Over the years various members have come and gone from the group. Tim and Sas have been in the group since it began in the summer of 2009. Fiona joined us January 2014 and Eleanor in January 2017. We are not like the usual handbell team because we combine ringing styles, we use a combination of 4, 5 or 6 in hand and off the table.
Our music arrangements are unique as we arrange them ourselves, they are carefully orchestrated with bell swaps and sharing so we achieve the fullest score possible. You will not hear them played by any other group! We play a variety of music from classical to pop and Disney. We rehearse once a week with occasional weekend rehearsals and have plenty of bookings and opportunities to play out.
