Meet some of our coaches:

Josh Jones, Sabres Executive Director: Josh founded Salem Sabres in 2006. He is the Glenvar High School Boys Varsity Coach and previously served for 18 years as Salem High School's Girls Varsity coach. Jones holds NSCAA National Diploma.

Justin Applegate: Justin has coached at Salem Sabres for 5 years. He is the Salem High School Girls Varsity Assistant Coach.

Kyleigh Drew: Kyleigh is the Glenvar High School Girls Varsity Coach and led the team to a State Championship in 2022. She has been coaching in our club for 2 years.

Michael Elder: Michael has coached at Salem Sabres for 7 years. He is the Salem High School Girls JV Coach.

Bob Van Gerven: Bob has coached at Salem Sabres for 7 years. He is Glenvar High School Boys JV Coach. Bob is from the Netherlands and possesses a US Soccer grassroots license.

Justin Kuzmich: Justin has coached at Salem Sabres for 3 years. He is the Glenvar Middle School Boys Coach.

Trevor Shannon: Trevor has coached at Salem Sabres for 5 years. 

Hunter Nash: Hunter has coached at Salem Sabres for 2 years. He also serves as the Patrick Henry High School JV coach.

Dave Nichols: Dave has coached at Salem Sabres for 5 years. He is the Glenvar High School Girls Assistant Coach.

Jonathan Elliott: Jonathan has coached at Salem Sabres for 3 years. 

Mike Conner: Mike has coached at Salem Sabres for 1 year.  He coached for 22 years in Richmond at the Richmond Kickers, Bailey Bridge MS and other clubs, as well as at Florida Elite in Jacksonville for 3 years.  Mike holds a NSCAA Advanced Diploma (Now known as United Soccer Coaches Advanced Regional Diploma) and a USSF E License.
