WHAT IS 3MT OR THREE MINUTE THESIS?

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition celebrates the exciting research being performed by graduate students and cultivates their academic, presentation, and research communication skills by challenging them to present their research to a non-specialist audience in three minutes (180 seconds!) or less using only one PowerPoint slide.

OUR GOAL

The goal of the 3MT Thesis is to engage students with all their communication skills to make their research vivid and engaging while emphasizing its key point without jargon.

Champion: Crest, Certificate, 1000$ prize money*

First Runner up: Crest, Certificate, 500$ prize money*

Second Runner up: Crest, Certificate, 250$ prize money*

GSA People’s Choice Winner: Using the real-time online voting by the audience winner will be selected, Trophy

Winning lab: Champion will get a trophy for his/ her lab
