A Cappella

Description: The Belmont High School A Cappella group is a select vocal ensemble of 16-20 members, performing a variety of repertoire in pop, rock, country, R&B, and other more contemporary musical styles. This group is mainly student-led, with upperclassmen section leaders who prepare and execute well organized rehearsals with occasional assistance from the Choral Director. This ensemble is treated like a collegiate level A Cappella group, with performance opportunities throughout the year, culminating with our A Cappella Night performance in March.

Who can audition: Students grades 9-12 who are enrolled in curricular chorus, band, or orchestra at BHS. *rare exceptions will be made to students who could not fit an ensemble into their schedule but can provide a written reference from a voice/instrumental private teacher or theatre director/coach with contact information.

What to audition with: Please sing approximately 1 minute of a song that best compliments your range and vocal tone within the musical genre of pop, country, R&B, or other contemporary musical styles. Also please complete this audition FORM before your audition time slot.

Audition details: Auditions will be taking place in person, after school on Monday, September 12th and Tuesday, September 13th 2022. This audition will take place in the BHS Chorus Room (B225) and it will be in front of Ms. Donovan and the A Cappella student leadership, as it is a largely student-directed ensemble. Please select a 10 minute time slot HERE and plan to arrive outside the Chorus room ten minutes prior to your audition time to ensure your form is complete and you have warmed up.
