Policies

Policies of the Amateur Radio Club: -- Meeting times will be during community block on Tuesdays in SC01.

1. Club Meetings are "open shack" this year are on Tuesdays in Room SC01 each week.

2. Less formal optional gatherings sometimes occur as announced.

3. The Club provides service during the Gilmour Invitational Cross Country Tournament in the fall, and the Miele Invitational Track Tournament in the spring.

4. Club members compete more “publicly” by operating during the semi-annual School Club Roundup on the radio (mid-October, and mid-February).

5. Licensed students are provided information about area radio clubs (such as the Lake Erie Amateur Radio Assn.) and about volunteer opportunities at various public service events that involve amateur radio communications. These latter include marathons, bicycle races, triathlons, etc.

6. The Club sometimes sponsors a holiday party in December during Christmas break as a way of giving thanks to adults who have provided radio equipment and volunteer time in support of amateur radio at Gilmour Academy.

Attendance

Students need to attend three meetings or activities each semester to be listed on the club website as members.
