WE DID IT!

Thank you to everyone who supported our first ever Big Give Christmas Challenge. Our target was £4,800 and through the hard work of our staff team and Trustees, and the generosity of our supporters, we exceeded our target and raised £5298.75 including Gift Aid.

We were blown away by the support and encouragement we were given during campaign week, thank you all so much.

WE ARE 30!

in 1992 the Young Women's Outreach Project was born and this year we celebrate 30 amazing years!

On the 9th November we held a celebration event for our wonderful young women as without them, there would be no Young Women's Outreach Project.

This gave the opportunity for our past young women to come back to the project and celebrate with us. To see staff, old faces, catch up and reminisce about their time at the Project. We could not celebrate our 30th birthday without celebrating the contribution and achievements of our young women who have been part of the Project over the years.

On the 16th November we held our second celebration event to thank our partner agencies and network of professionals who have supported our work over the years.

We held activities that we do in our groups so it gave the opportunity to get a feel of our Project and learn more about what makes us such a unique service provider.

---

We have been totally overwhelmed and blown away by the support we've had at our celebration events.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you for the support of the Project over the years. For the presents, cards, well wishes, messages and for sharing your stories with us.

Thank you again for the past 30 years...and the next 30 to come!

Tesco Golden Token Winners

Tesco Gateshead Trinity Store held a Golden Token hour on 15th October where one lucky customer, who picked out the golden token, had the opportunity to choose one of the current token collection charities to receive a £10,000 grant from Tesco

The lovely Annabelle found the golden token and chose us!

Two people from Tesco came to the project to present us with a cheque and give us 3 wonderful hampers filled with Tesco goodies. We invited Annabelle and her family along too, so we could show her around the building and to thank her. As part of her thank you gifts, we asked Annabelle to choose her favourite room in the project and whichever room she chose we would rename as Annabelle's Room in her honour.

We are over the moon to be awarded £10,000 from Tesco's Community Grant Fund. This will help us continue our work and make a difference to young women and their mental health

Gateshead Heroes Awards

Our wonderful CEO, Joanne Jopling, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this years Gateshead Awards.

The Gateshead Awards celebrate all those who, in whatever way, have made a real difference to the lives of others in the borough.

Summer Programme 2018

This year we have had our busiest Summer Programme so far and we enjoyed a wide range of activities with young women, young Mams and their children. We went on a picnic in Saltwell Park, the the Beach at South Shields, forest school at Birkheads Wild, bowling, rock climbing, swimming, Beamish, Jumparena, Dynamix and held a song writing workshop, sign language workshop and a tie dying class in the Project.

CraftHood Sessions

We were approached a local business called CraftHood who organise a variety of contemporary craft sessions across the North East. One element of their business is a Buy One, Gift One project where the CraftHood donate a workshop to a charity. We were lucky enough to be gifted some of these workshops and in July we created block printed cloth bags. The session was attended by ten young women who thoroughly enjoyed the activity and got to take their finished bag home.
