We Tracked It

Tracking the spread and response to the virus was challenging, but the Wyoming Department of Health led the way in gathering and reporting statistics through their Infectious Disease and Epidemiology Unit.

COVID-19 infographics and interactive maps became a frequent reference for citizens across Wyoming and the Nation. As the disease progressed, maps were updated with additional relevant stats.

Beginning with his press conference in mid-March, Governor Mark Gordon used a simplified dashboard to show how Wyoming's caseload was changing and inform decisions about imposing or lifting restrictions.

In mid-August, Governor Gordon announced that Wyoming would participate in a location tracking software, called Care19, that could alert users of potential exposures to confirmed cases of the virus.
