Larry had the BFMS Yearbook dedicated to him twice and was the recipient of the Bellows Falls Middle School Outstanding Teacher Award. He won UVM’s Outstanding VT Teacher Award and the Bellows Falls YMCA Service to Youth Award. He received the American Legion Appreciation Award and became an honorary member of the Jessie A. Judd chapter of the National Honors Society.

He was on the board at Our Place and taught Religious Education at Kurn Hattin Homes. He was a Deacon at the First Congregational Church of Westminster

Additional Information:

Larry organized, drove and chaperoned school-wide trips to Boston, Connecticut, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington and Montreal.

He invited every 6-grade student to join him at Keewaydin’s Environmental Education Center during Spring break, each year. He would then encourage the 7th graders to join him in participating in Seyon Ranch’s winter programming.

He and his wife Bette Wunderle chaperoned a group of Bellows Falls students to Germany for a month one summer.
