Chris Hodsden

Chris began his Terrier career at Bellows Falls Middle School playing baseball in 7th and 8th grade. In high school he played four years of Terrier football and 4 years of Terrier baseball. In his senior year he was captain of both teams. While at BFUHS Chris also participated in many drama club productions and was a member of the jr and senior division math teams. In his Junior year he was inducted into the Jesse A. Judd Chapter of the National Honor Society. He was a representative to the American Legion Boys State and played baseball for Post 37.


After graduating from BFUHS in 1984 Chris attended the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1988 with a degree in mathematics. He spent 8 years of active duty service with the US Navy and then 7 years of reserve duty flying the Navy’s P3-C. While on Active duty, Chris graduated from the University of West Florida with a Master of Arts degree in teaching mathematics


In 1996 Chris returned to Bellows Falls and became a math teacher at BFUHS. In his third year of teaching, Chis was runner up Vermont Teacher of the Year. From 1999-2005 Chris was Assistant Principal at BFUHS and then Principal until 2021. During these years, Chris participated in many drama club productions. He coached Freshman football and JV baseball for his first nine years upon returning to BFUHS. In 2021 Chris was named The Robert F. Pierce Principal of the Year.


Chris and his wife Jeannie, who also graduated from BFUHS in 1984, raised their 5 children in Bellows Falls and all 5 graduated from BFUHS. He has spent every year since 2003 teaching religious education at St Charles parish.


Most days Chris can be seen wearing some type of Terrier clothing and will always be loyal to the purple and the white.
