Chad Illingworth

While in school, Chad was President of his class (1994) as a sophomore. In his senior year Chad was Student Council President and started the Terrier Hall of Fame. Chad played football all four years in high school and was part of the 1993 state championship team. For two of his high school years, Chad was a member of the ski team. Chad also played 2 years of basketball and was a member of the 1993 state championship team (the first boys title at BFUHS). Finally, Chad played 4 years of baseball at BFUHS

From 1994-2011 Chad was a coach for the Knights of Columbus (this is a volunteer position). For about 10 years he was the head coach of the team. In 2008 Chad was an assistant coach for the 2008 Vermont State Cal Ripken Championship team. In 2009 he was the head coach for VT Cal Ripken Championship team that went on to, and was the first ever Vermont team to, win a game at the New England Regional Tournament. Chad also served on the Board of Directors from 2001-2011 as the coach representative for the Bellows Falls Junior League. Chad was the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball coach for the Bellows Falls Middle School from 2008-2011 and a Freshman basketball coach at BFUHS in 2013. In 2013, 2015, and 2016, Chad was a volunteer softball coach for the Rockingham Recreation Department. In 2016 Chad was a volunteer basketball coach for the Rockingham Recreation Department. Chad also was a volunteer assistant coach for the BFMS softball team in 2018.

Chad has officiated in many sports and at various levels. From 1994-2011 Chad volunteered his time as an umpire for the Junior League. From 1995 to the present Chad has officiated Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Pee Wee football. He has also officiated middle school and junior varsity basketball since 1995. In 2005 Chad was a volunteer official for the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl and in 2013 a volunteer official for the Vermont North/South football game.

In 2012 and 2013 Chad served as a Rockingham School Board member. He was Chairman of the Terrier Hall of Fame from 1994-2002, then again from 2019 to the present. Chad went through the Alumni Chairs from 1997-2000 and then a second time from 2012-2015, being President in the years 2000 and 2015. Chad has served as the Alumni ABC Chairperson from 2014 to the present, as well as the Past President Chairperson during the same years. As the ABC Chair, Chad began the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament in 2016 and remains the director for the event.

Among all of this Chad has been an active member of the class of 1994 and has helped many other classes with building floats (even as a child). Chad worked several years at the Rockingham Recreation Department when he was younger and was always one of the most active with the kids, playing t-ball, wiffle ball, tennis, and many other games; keeping the kids active and happy.
