Google Workspace (G Suite) Teacher Courses

All training courses are 1 hour in length and delivered online. To access the courses you will need an internet connected device with a camera and microphone. Courses can delivered to any size of group but for the best experience we recommend groups of sizes of 8-10 maximum.

Google Workspace ( G Suite) Overview

This is one hour training session which focuses on some of the key tools from the Google Workspace. The session looks at how these tools can be used to support your learners both at home and in school or college and helps staff who have previous experience with Google Workspace (G Suite) to focus their personal future training.

Teaching Online - Basics

An introduction to teaching online for those trying this for the first time. This course is based around G Suite applications and includes the use of Google Meet (Hangouts), Google Slides and Google Forms to quickly enable teachers and educators to connect with students, present information and assess progress.

Google Chrome Course

A course enabling users to make the most of the Google Chrome browser. This course will enable you to fully customise Google Chrome and make it your roaming personalised desktop, bringing your own working environment to any device that you log into. No more last minute searching for files, documents or websites.

Google Drive Course

Get in control of your file management. This course will give you the skills to get your files and folders under control. The course covers the management of your Google Drive and also your establishment's Team Drives and is particularly useful for those new to Google Drive and who have resources stored in other formats on other drives.

Google Classroom - Basics

A course for teachers and other educators who want to get to grips with Google Classroom. This course is for those who are new to Google Classroom and covers the key tools in Classroom from both the teacher and the students viewpoint. Completion of this course will enable you to confidently link with learners via Classroom.

Google Classroom - Advanced

This course looks at the different ways that the tools found in and around Google Classroom can be used to support learning. Much more than simply an assignment management system, Google Classroom can be your virtual teaching control centre, supporting learning across the entire GSuite platform.

Google Forms Course - Basics

A course covering the use of Google Forms as a survey tool and also as a tool for both formative and summative assessments. The course covers the use of Google Forms for auto marking quizzes, teacher marked assessments and student independent study. The use of Google sheets for quizz data analysis is also included.

Google Forms Course - Advanced

This course covers the use of Google Forms as a self study tool to enable students to assess and track their own learning and so set their personal learning targets. The use of branched questions and interactive feedback enables student to progress at speed determined by their own learning rather than the rest of the group.

Google Sites Course - Basics

A course covering the basic skills needed to build functional and attractive Google Sites. The course will cover the use of Google Sites as both a communication and collaboration tool and as a resource for student directed and independent study. The use of Google Sites as a school intranet for sharing of resources will also be covered.

Google Sites Course - Advanced

This course looks at the different ways that Google Sites can be used to support teaching and learning. Much more than simply a website, Google Sites can be used to link together the many G Suite tools to fully support student learning both in the classroom, at home and on the go. An essential aid for independent study.

Google Docs Course

This course covers the use of the main tools within Google Docs. With a quick overview of the standard 'word processing' tools, the course then takes a deeper dive into the unique features that makes Google Docs a go to application for online working. Managing documents from other applications is also covered.

Gmail Tools Course

This course covers the use of the tools found in Gmail. No longer simply an email inbox Gmail has developed into a central communication hub. The management of emails has been taken to the next level allowing you to take control of your inbox once again. The course includes linking emails to other Google applications.

Google Slides Course

This course covers the use of Google Slides a presentation tool both for presentation in person and online. The course covers the use of Explore to build slide decks, the use of Captions to improve accessibility and the Q&A tools. The course also looks at the use of published slide decks as e-books to embed into your websites.

Resource Builder Course

Schools have thousands of work sheets. Use of which results in high photocopying bills, with sheets often ending up in the recycle bin at the end of the day. This course looks at how the G Suite tools can be used to bring a new and inexpensive lease of life to these resources. (This course requires Google Slides and Forms Basics courses).

This course covers the use of Google Slides, Screencastify and YouTube to enable you to quickly create and deliver online video lessons to your students. No more endless hours searching for a YouTube video that almost does the job. Now you can create video lessons tailored to your students' needs

Organising Your Digital Workspace

Struggling to get on top of your digital life? This course looks at the Google tools that you can use to take back control of your work-life. The course will help you to organise your Gmail Inbox, show you how to use your calendar to schedule and communicate and how tools such as Google Keep and Google Chrome can make life easier.

Using Sites as a student e-portfolio

Sites can be used for e-portfolios by students and is an excellent way to showcase work and progress. This e-portfolio Site could travel with the student, allowing them to showcase their work throughout the years. Similarly, a Site can be used as a digital portfolio for apprentice and adult students who may be seeking new employment.

Blogger

This course covers the use of Google Blogger to enable staff and students to create and manage their online blogging presence. The course covers the creation of a Blogger account, page creation, layouts themes and comment settings, making it possible for users to fully manage their blog.

Google Jamboard Course

This course focuses on the use of Google Jamboard as a shared work space for teaching and learning, collaboration and assessment. The course will enable teachers to actively use Jamboard but as a self contained tool and also for collaboration when using other tools such as Google Meet and Sites.

Blended Learning Course

This course covers the use of the full set of Google Suite tools to create fully blended learning courses to support your students' learning. This course is for the more advanced G Suite users who are confident in the basic use of tools such as Google Classroom, Google Sites and Forms.
