How to receive phone calls on your PC?

This solution has been the most asked for, the most wanted communion, for those who have to use the laptop and the phone simultaneously. It is a seamless switchover between the two for anyone who doesn’t want to stop working continuously on one screen to shift screen and do something different on the smaller display. Now Microsoft helps to cover the difference by giving you the opportunity to answer and even make phone calls right from your PC. The feature of being able to send the call straight to the voicemail is also available in this new amalgamation.

This new feature has been aptly and simply named Calls. This application comes as a premium feature of Windows 10 Insider Preview. You will have to upgrade to this software before you can begin to use this feature. You would also need to make sure that the Android phone you are using is at least version 7 of the OS or newer. For the uninitiated, Android 10 is also available in the market, and most of the current phones should be able to work in sync.

How to start using Your Phone app and directly use your phone and your PC simultaneously?

To get started and link Windows 10 to the Android phone that you are using, you need to start with downloading Windows 10s Your Phone app. Given below are the complete steps for the setup procedure:

  1. In the Windows 10 preview, first of all, go to Your Phone app and open it, select Android option on the right and then hit on Continue.


  1. Then put in your mobile phone number and then press “Send” to have Microsoft send you a link. This link the user needs to use for connecting the Android phone to your PC.


  1. Next on the Android phone, open the text message and click on the message link, it would redirect the user to the app page in Google Play.


  1. After the app is installed, click on Install and then tap Open. The next task of the user is to find “Your Phone Companion” app on the Android desktop and click on open.


  1. Once the user has accessed the app, fill in Microsoft account information and then finally click on “Sign in”.


  1. In the next window, select Continue and then select Allow if the user wants to let the app manage phone calls, have access to files and contact on the phone and view and send SMS messages.


  1. Next click on Continue and next Allow if the user wants to allow the app run in the background.


  1. Finally, click on Allow so that the Android device has direct access to the PC, then select Continue and finally click Done.


  1. Finally in Windows 10, in Phone calls settings, the user might also need to give the “Your Phone app” allowance to make calls.
