I was born and raised here in Eugene, Oregon, where my sister and parents still live. I was a professional bicycle racer in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. I had the opportunity to compete in the Olympic trials in 1988, and raced for a team in Spain in 1990. I married my wife Angela in 1991. Then, after she delivered our first of two sons in 1992, we moved to Portland where I became a Paramedic. I worked as a Paramedic for 10 years. Then in 2003, I went to Physician Assistant school up at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, and graduated in 2005. After my youngest son graduated high school up in the Portland area, we made the move back to Eugene to be closer to family and get back to the Eugene/Springfield community which we love. I still love to ride my bicycle, spend time with family, watch sports, read books, and teach classes on Lifestyle Medicine.
