Kia Ora, I'm AnneMarie Tangney, a wedding celebrant based in Mt Eden, Auckland offering a range of ceremonies from short and sweet to longer, more detailed personalised wedding ceremonies.

Being a marriage celebrant is something I cherish, and believe that every couple in love deserves a beautiful, memorable marriage ceremony.

I enjoy working with neurodivergent couples, as well as those looking for a more non-traditional ceremony (although of course I also love a traditional ceremony as well!)

I warmly welcome and celebrate couples of all faiths, cultures and backgrounds. I am a Christian and happy to incorporate all faith elements into your ceremony. 

Flexible and Easy Planning 🎉

I am available to provide celebrant services anywhere in Auckland and anywhere in New Zealand if my timetable allows this. 

Most ceremonies can be easily arranged via email making the planning process simple and stress-free. 

During the week I work part-time as a health professional (Monday-Thursday daytime hours), which means I am available to officiate weddings on weekday evenings, Fridays and weekends. Occasionally I may be able to take the 1-2 days off from my job to be available at other times and to travel out of Auckland.

Please note that additional travel costs may apply for locations outside my local area (Mt Eden, Auckland)

Marriage licence Guidance 🖥️

All couples must apply for a marriage licence before their ceremony (cost is $158). The licence takes 3 working days to be processed and is valid for 3 months from when you apply for it. 

As your celebrant I will give you simple instructions to guide you through the process and answer any questions to ensure everything is sorted smoothly and on time. 

Photo ID 📷

It is a legal requirement that all couples must be able to produce photo ID such as a passport front page or driver's licence so I can check legal names and dates of birth and your identity.

2 Witnesses are required 👥

All marriages in NZ require 2 witnesses to be present to hear the legal components of the ceremony and sign documentation. They must understand the language spoken during the ceremony (or have a translator available who can interpret for them).

In elopements or tiny weddings, if you are using a photographer they can often be one of the required witnesses, so then you will only require one other. If you are really stuck for an extra person I can sometimes ask around my own family as to who might be available to help.
