Volunteer

Mechanic's Assistant

With a growing number of participants, we are in need of assistance from adult volunteers as the Mechanic's Assistant. This position requires basic knowledge of how to repair small engines. You would be helping the youth directly, working on the donated machines. We would also offer additional opportunities such as helping with special donated machines or with events.

Positions available are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 and Saturdays from 9:00am-1:00pm. A regular commitment is requested, but not required.

Trailer Club

Tried & True will always have a need for a handful of trustworthy individuals to participate in our “Trailer Club.”

“Trailer Club” volunteers would be responsible to assist the program by moving small engine donations to where they are needed throughout their life cycle with us:

  • Picking up and dropping off machines for customers.
  • Bringing extra inventory to our storage facility.
  • Moving machines from storage to the shop for the kids to work on them.

The program does have its own 6’x10’ trailer with a ramp, but if you prefer to use your own trailer, that is an option available to you as well. All “Trailer Club” volunteers do use their own vehicles and assume liability for activity that takes place on the road. Mileage is reimbursable.
