About The Guild
About The Guild
The Writers’ Guild is a group of young authors working together to improve their writing and promote the idea of writing. We do writing-based activities at our meetings in order to improve different aspects of our writing, from characters to world-building. We have many features here on our website to help Guild members and members-to-be. Our private members-only site features a database where members can upload and share their work for feedback if they so choose.

Our Story
Our Story
The Writers' Guild was founded by Drason Chow and Daniel Dautel as a small group for sharing book files. The idea of a club wasn't considered at first. But with creative writing growing in popularity at Penn, they eventually decided to form a group of writers called the Writers' Guild. Since then, the Guild has grown to become what it is today: a full-fledged guild of young authors sharing writing and their knowledge of it. In mid-2018, Daniel, Drason, and founding members Brian Yu, Evan Smith, and Griffin Peters graduated from Penn. Leadership of the Guild was then transferred to Dominique Fleming and Liam Morris, the apprentices of Daniel and Drason. After Dominique graduated in 2019, Vance Hieb took her place as one of the Guild Heads.

Our Community
The Writers' Guild is present throughout our community. In addition to hosting meetings, we share information on upcoming writing contests and similar events with our membership. Our members have participated in multiple writing conferences and some have even submitted to writing competitions outside of the Guild. We encourage members to submit their writing to Spectrum as well.
