Major Scales in Thirds

Playing a scale in thirds helps break the tendency to only use muscle memory and helps you think about the notes. The metronome is set at 90 and the scale is played in half notes after four preparation beats. The first time through, I'm playing the scale with you, and the note names and slide positions are provided. The second time, you'll see me, but you'll only hear the drone of the first note of the scale (also known as the tonic) and the metronome. My slide will move to the notes for you to look at if you need a little help. Try using the alternate positions when shown- they will help avoid glissing between notes.
