Schanzmeyer

August Schanzmeyer (1883-1962) married Rosa Huchtmeyer (1891-1928) in 1910. The following children lived to adulthood: Catherine Schanzmeyer Oligschlaeger (1912-2004), Laurentia Schanzmeyer Verhoff (1915-1995), Leonard Schanzmeyer, (1919-2017), August or "Shorty" Schanzmeyer (1924-2008), Frank Schanzmeyer (1928-2016). After Rose's death in 1928, August married Cecilia Kemna (1891-1972) in 1941.

August's adopted sister was Mary (Mame) Schanzmeyer (1889-1970). She was born in New York and came to St. Elizabeth on the orphan train from New York. She appears in a few of the pictures below.
