Ca' Foscari University of Venice and the University of Sassari are pleased to invite you to the SASCA Ph.D. Conference in Economics 2024. The event will take place on September 23-24, at the Department of Economics, Ca' Foscari University (Italy). The conference will bring together promising Ph.D. students from many Institutions to encourage the exchange of ideas and networking.

We are pleased to be hosting François Maniquet (UCLouvain) and Nicola Limodio (Bocconi University) as keynote speakers.

Submissions in any economic field are welcome by Ph.D. students and researchers who have just completed their Ph.D. We are looking for complete and work-in-progress papers in microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory, applied microeconomics, applied macroeconomics, finance and banking, environmental and ecological economics,  behavioural and experimental economics, econometrics and quantitative methods.  You can apply with your full article.  Submissions will be evaluated by a Scientific Committee. 

During the conference, each presentation will include a discussion and a brief Q&A session.

 Keynote Speakers

François Maniquet

Professor of Economics at Université Catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), affiliated with CORE and Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research. 

His research focuses on Welfare Economics, Poverty Economics, and Political Economy. His works have been published in top academic journals such as The Review of Economic Studies, Econometrica, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Economic Literature.

Nicola Limodio

Assistant Professor of Finance at Bocconi University, affiliated with CEPR & JPAL. 

His research focuses on the study of financial institutions in emerging markets, at the intersection between Finance, Political Economy, and Development Economics. His work has been published in top academic journals such as The Review of Economic Studies, Econometrica, The Review of Financial Studies, American Economic Review, Management Science.
