Goodbye, Green Space
For three decades, Block 7 has served as a valuable community park space for the neighborhood of Goose Hollow. In recent months, this space has been a necessary refuge for apartment dwellers in the midst of a global pandemic.
The Multnomah Athletic Club's development proposal for a 16-story apartment complex is completely out of scale with anything else in the neighborhood. The project will:
Remove the only publicily accessible green space in the neighborhood
Destroy almost an acre of mature trees, fundamentally impacting the local ecosystem.
Add 408 cars onto already congested streets, increasing the air pollution in downtown Portland.
