What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God given to us for instruction in righteousness that the man of God might be complete and completely furnished unto every good work. (2 Timothy 3:17)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, born of a virgin and sent to Earth by God to save all mankind. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of humanity and was resurrected from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-5) and ascended to heaven to reside with God the Father (Acts 1:10-11).

We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that Jesus died on the cross for sinners (Romans 5:8), and that the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, His Son (Romans 6:23).

We believe that we are saved by the blood of Christ through baptism into His kingdom (Acts 2:38), and that is why He died on the cross.

We believe that both physical and spiritual guidance and direction of the church body falls under the jurisdiction of the elders, who are commissioned to shepherd the flock and are appointed by the congregation (Acts 20:28, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Heb. 13:17). 

We are a "self-governing" body of Christians, taking this pattern from the example set in the New Testament by the early Church.

We believe deacons are to be selected from among the congregation to serve and address the physical needs of the church (1 Timothy 3:1-13).

We believe that the congregation should meet on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7), for teaching, fellowship and the breaking of bread and prayers. We also have set aside this time to return through tithes and regular giving, a portion of the blessings with which God has blessed us (1 Corinthians 16:2).
