EPI vs ERI

2-parameter pandemic description

4 possible situations:

  • ERI > 1 and EPI > 1. (Red zone: high risk of an exponential growth).

  • ERI > 1 and EPI < 1. (Orange/amber zone: moderate risk, the next wave may be large if it starts now).

  • ERI < 1 and EPI > 1. (Yellow zone: moderately low risk, with the potential to move to a higher level risk).

  • ERI < 1 and EPI < 1. (Green zone: low risk).

Notation: EPI -Epidemic Index; ERI - Epidemic Risk Index.
