Hsinchu Student Host Program

Every October, students from Cupertino Union and Fremont Union School District host students from Hsinchu Taiwan for 1 week. Our students and families have the opportunity show our guests what makes Cupertino, our schools, our area, and our families so unique. Our exchange students will get a small taste of the American school system while also learning about another's culture. Many find there are more similarities between our 2 cities than differences! Interested students and families, please click on the program year to learn about program requirements, application, and deadlines.

General Requirements

-Current 7th-12th grade students enrolled in either a CUSD or FUHSD school at the time of hosting.

-Families will host, provide meals, and transportation between home and school, to CHSCA events, and other events planned by families

-Please note that host schools for CUSD and FUHSD rotate each year. Exchange students may not be going to the same school as the host student. Families will be required to provide transportation and pick up to host middle school and host high school.

-Students who host in October will receive bonus points during the application FOR THE FOLLOWING APRIL. Due to the increase in the number of applicants, interested students hoping to travel in April are encouraged to become host families first!
