Welcome to my webpage!

I'm an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Cantabria, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. I hold an MSc and PhD in Economics from the University of the Basque Country, University of Cantabria and University of Oviedo. I serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Journal of Economic Policy Reform, and Public Performance and Management Review.

My research interests include public service performance and public sector reform, with an emphasis on marketization, cross-sector partnerships and decentralization. I have recently published in leading academic journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory,  Public Administration Review, Regional Studies, Social Science & Medicine, and World Development, among others.
