Mini Festival

July 2021

On a scorching summer's day in July 2021, "The All Saints' Virtual (Lockdown) Choir" performed six of their over fifty pieces, live in All Saints' Church to a small, but very appreciative, audience. Mike Smith (organist at St Mary's Frensham) interspersed these with some wonderful organ snippets, including Haydn's composition for three musical clocks and a short voluntary from John Stanley showcasing Tilford's trumpet organ stop.

After a "bring and share lunch", Geoff's U3A Play Reading group "performed" two short one act plays. "Still Life" by Noel Coward and "Gosforth's Fete" by Alan Ayckbourn, two miniature masterpieces. This U3A group was one of the early adopers of the Zoom technology and has been meeting weekly on-line, since May 2020 reading over forty plays. It was so rewarding to "perform" live in front of a very responsive audience, in the shade of a country churchyard.
