Abby Walker is an Arizona-based acoustic pop songwriter and performer. Her solo career has taken her to local music festivals, hotels, art galleries, private events—even all the way down to Mexico.

After placing third in Alice Cooper’s Proof is in the Pudding Competition with the tongue-in-cheek song “Arizona Christmas” (available to stream everywhere), she expanded from solo shows to larger venues with a three-piece group and later a full band.

When not onstage herself, Walker hosts local events such as songwriters’ rounds, showcases, and open mics. She also writes personalized songs for clients and spends her free time in the studio.

A message from Abby:

For the last two years since I graduated college with a biology degree I hope to never use, I’ve been pursuing music full-time, taking every opportunity offered to perform, write and network with other musicians. This takes me to restaurants, bars, art galleries, coffee shops, local festivals, private events, assisted living communities, schools — you name it! I perform solo shows and gigs with my band, I host local events such as writers’ rounds, showcases, and open mics, and I write songs for myself and others, including both other musicians and non-musician clients who hire me for custom songs. In the midst of all of these opportunities, I’ve found so much joy, connection, and career success — far beyond what little Abby, sitting in her room with a guitar and a passion for music so intense she thought her heart would burst, ever dreamed was possible.

Since deciding to pursue music full-time (a choice I made when an old music teacher told me she didn’t think I could do it), door after door has opened for me, and I’ve had no doubt that this gift of music is meant to be shared with the people around me. The lyrics I write may be a reflection of my own experiences, but the goal in performing them is to reach people who have similar experiences and show them they’re not alone — that I’ve been through it too, and I’m still alive and learning to thrive.
