WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

This will certainly be a DIFFERENT year with many DIFFERENT things to get used to during your day!


WHAT IS HPE GOING TO LOOK LIKE THIS YEAR??????

OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME!

We will doing physical education out in the school yard DAILY. Unless there are extreme weather conditions, we will try to be outdoors as much as possible ALL YEAR! Health classes will take place in each classroom.

        • Dress for Success by making sure that you are both prepared to be active and prepared for ANY kind of weather

TIPS for dressing for success:

            • wear running shoes, a t-shirt, sweater, track pants (NO SANDALS OR DRESSES)

            • dress in layers so that you can remove a layer when you get warm

            • be prepared for chilly and wet weather this fall... a wind breaker and/ or rain jacket will be your friends

            • bring your own labelled water bottle, students won't be able to go in an out of the school freely

THIS WILL BE OUR NEW NORMAL FOR A WHILE.

At this unprecedented time, the health and well being of our students is our top priority! In the past two weeks, we have both witnessed first hand how much Physical Education and Covid friendly activities have meant to the students here at Davisville. The joy that Health and Physical Education brings to our students is just amazing and it is super important that this doesn’t stop should we go virtual. Thanks to our Davisville Dragons website, you will now have access to a variety of activities no matter where you are.

Daily Goals for Movement: / Buts journaliers en mouvement :

Sweat / Suer

Goal: Try to spend 1 hour a day doing a physical activity that gets you sweating! / But : Essaie de faire une activité physique qui te fait suer pendant 1 heure par jour !

Step / Marcher

Goal: Try to spend several hours a day moving around. Avoid sitting for too long! / But : Essaie de passer plusieurs heures par jours en mouvement. Évite d'être assis pendant trop longtemps !

Sleep / Dormir

Goal: Try to get 9-11 hours of sleep every night. / But : Essaie d'avoir de 9 à 11 heures de sommeil par nuit.

Screen / Écran

Goal: Try to limit recreational screen time to 2 hours a day maximum. / But : Essaie de limiter ton temps récréatif à l'écran à un maximum de 2 heures par jour.

Imagine / Imaginer

Tip: Think of all the things you are thankful for. Find something you want to get better at, and try to get closer to that goal every day. / Conseil : Pense à toutes les choses pour lesquelles tu es reconnaissant(e). Trouve quelque chose dans lequel tu veux t'améliorer, et essaie de te rapprocher de ce but à tous les jours.

Soothe / Appaiser

Tip: When you are not feeling at your best, do something that makes you feel nice, like taking deep breaths or cuddling a pet or favourite toy. / Conseil : Quand tu ne te sens pas à ton meilleur, fais quelque chose qui t'aide à bien te sentir, comme prendre des grandes respirations ou serrer dans tes bras un animal domestique ou un jouet préféré.

Help out / Contribuer

Tip: Doing a household task or something kind for someone else is a great way to feel connected. / Conseil : Faire une tâche domestique ou quelque chose de gentil pour quelqu'un d'autre est une excellente façon de se sentir connecté.

Hobbies / Passe-temps

Tip: Spend some time doing something you love, like dancing or listening to music or playing around. / Conseil : Passe du temps à faire quelque chose que tu aimes, comme danser ou écouter de la musique ou jouer.
