Nature Notes
In the country of Australia,
there’s a fairly large animal called a Wombat. They are endearing creatures
with a round body, short tail, short legs, large paws and long, strong claws
for digging burrows in the ground. Wombats live in these burrows often
digging several tunnels, entrances and rooms. They like to sleep during the
day and wake up at night to eat grass, herbs, roots and other plants.
There’s one bad thing about
the wombat. Because they’re such large animals, the entrances of their burrowed-homes
are quite large. Sometimes, the tunnels are not very deep under the ground.
When a person or large animal walks over these tunnels, the wombat’s burrow caves
in and makes it easy to stumble, trip and fall.
Does it hurt to stumble,
trip and fall?
Do you like to fall down?
How do you feel when you
fall down?

Spiritual Connection
In the garden of Eden, Adam
and Eve were perfectly happy. They loved the fruits; they loved the animals;
they loved each other, and they loved God. Do you think they enjoyed their
garden home?
There was one bad thing in
the garden of Eden. That was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil where
Satan stayed. When Eve went to Satan’s tree, he told her things about God
that were not true. Satan caused Eve to stumble; that means she questioned
God. Eve should have run away from Satan, but she didn’t. Instead, she
listened to him. Then she started to believe him. Then… she fell; that means she
disobeyed God by eating the fruit from Satan’s tree.
There’s an old song that
says “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to
trust in obey.” Learning to trust and obey Jesus, means that we must first
learn to trust and obey our mommies and daddies. If we learn to trust and
obey our mommies and daddies; if we learn to trust and obey Jesus, then Satan
will not be able to cause us to stumble and fall – that means Satan will not
be able to make you disobey.

What a wonderful God we
have! He wants us to be happy. He wants us to be in Heaven. So, He gave us
mommies and daddies to help us learn how to trust and obey.
Let’s learn this wonderful
song! It will help us remember how to be happy in Jesus.
