Nature Notes
Do you think God needs to
wear a string on His finger to remember what He has promised to do? No, I
don’t think so.
He did make us a promise,
though. After the great flood, He promised Noah that He would never again
send a flood upon the earth. And to help us remember that promise, He put a
rainbow in the sky.
Have you ever seen a
rainbow after a rain storm? In our family we used to see a rainbow every
afternoon when the sun would shine through the glass of our back door. I have
a picture of one of those rainbows on Lucy’s face. Can you see all the
colors?
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green,
Blue, Indigo, Violet.
Isn’t the rainbow
beautiful? Can you remember God’s rainbow promise? Let’s say His promise
together: “I do set my bow in the cloud, and it
shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth” (Genesis 9:13).
What a wonderful God to
give us the rainbow. It’s such a beautiful reminder of His promise to never
flood the earth again with water.
Do you think God needs the
rainbow to remind Him of His promise? No, it’s a reminder for us!

Spiritual Connection
God has made us another
promise in the Bible.
He has promised to come
back to our world and take us to Heaven. In Heaven, we will live with Him –
forever. We will drink from the river of life and eat from the tree of life (Revelation 22:1,2). AND, we will get to see the rainbow that sits above the throne
of God (Revelation 4:3)
Won’t that be wonderful?
Fresh, cool water. Sweet, ripe fruit. And a beautiful rainbow to explore. All
before God’s throne.
Oh, we have so much to look
forward to in Heaven! I’m glad Jesus has promised to take us there. I want to
be ready to go to Heaven when Jesus comes, don’t you?
Perhaps, we can make a
promise to God that we will obey Him in every way so that we can be ready to
go to Heaven when He comes? And every time you see a rainbow, it can be a
reminder to you that you have promised to obey God in every way.
Let’s kneel down and make
that promise to God right now.
