Exceptional Leadership

The leadership model of Jesus

As a leader, Jesus understood that the most effective way to train an individual for a specific work is to have a relationship with them that personally communicates the reasons for their work as well as the procedures. To many, Christ’s words were simply words of logic and good news. They failed to interpret the underlying principles that governed Him, draw men and women to Him, and set the stage for personal leadership development. This session will attempt to outline the biblical principles that govern the leadership style of Jesus in an effort to draw Adventist leaders closer to Christ in the development of their own leadership style.

Characterizing Leadership and Management

Two distinct forms of administration that are necessary and of important value

Management and leadership are two distinct forms of administration. This session will define and describe them both through the perceptive research of both the academic and corporate realms, as well as through the experiences and observations of the author. From these sources it will be shown that management and leadership, though quite different, are both necessary and integral to the success or demise of any agency, business, organization, or relationship.

Conflict Resolution

Personal responsibility for others; Accountability to Christ

When it comes to children, the most important issues are their health, safety and happiness.  When parents or youth workers perceive that a child’s health, safety, or happiness is threatened they usually respond with anger, fear, and concern.  Can strife be handled constructively and in a Christian manner? This session will focus on the responsibility of the youth worker in handling tension and anger.

Making the Budget Work

Operating a private, non-profit, sectarian preschool

The successful preschool director has a myriad of responsibilities that span everything from child development and curriculum, hiring and staffing issues to state and federal requirements, budgets and marketing. The following strategies have been gathered from seasoned early childhood directors who are constantly looking for new ways to keep their programs financially stable.
