Description:

Mon-Fri, 4:30 am-10pm; Sat, 8-5; Sun, 10-5 Closed all holidays. Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC. This walk starts from the Gettysburg YWCA. ***** The 5K trail goes through portions of the battlefield fought over on the first day and into the west end of downtown Gettysburg. The 10K also goes onto the campus of Gettysburg College and the center of the downtown area. ***** The trail is mostly on paved park roads and city sidewalks.

From the square in Gettysburg go south on Baltimore St. (Bus. 15 S., PA 116 W.) 1 block to Middle St.Turn right on Middle St. (PA 116 W.) and go 7/10 mile, passing traffic signals at Washington St., Franklin St, West St., and Confederate Ave./Seminary Ridge. The YWCA driveway is 1/10 mile past Confederate Ave. on the right.

Mon-Fri, 4:30 am-10pm; Sat, 8-5; Sun, 10-5 Closed all holidays. Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC. After registering, you must drive to the start at the parking lot for the National Cemetery. ***** The route is new for 2017. There are two 5K trails; either trail may be done for 5K credit. Both trails must be done for 10K credit.*****The 5K Town Trail goes through the Soldiers' National Cemetery, to downtown, and past the stores and restaurants on Steinwehr Ave. The 5K Battlefield Trail goes to the Visitor's Center, to the Pennsylvania Monument, south to the intersection with United States Avenue, and then back to the "Highwater Mark" part of the battlefield. ***** There are no restrooms at the parking area; however, both trails will pass restrooms within 1K of starting.

If you are visiting Gettysburg and only have time to do one walk, this is the one we recommend. ****** Pets are not allowed inside the Gettysburg National Cemetery but you can do a detour and avoid the cemetery****The "A" Award is a 4" patch featuring the 1st Minnesota Monument which is on the 5K Battlefield Trail

Pets cannot enter the National Cemetery. ***** After registering, you must drive about five miles to the parking lot at Little Roundtop. ***** New Trail for 2017. The 5K Sickle's Trail is a loop in the area where the Union Third Corps fought on July 2, 1863. The 5K Farnsworth's Cavalry Charge Trail is a loop in the area where Brig Gen Farnsworth's Cavalry Brigade charged across on July 3, 1863. Both 5K trails must be done for 10K credit. The 15K trail starts from the YWCA and goes on the Confederate line on Seminary Ridge, past the Peach Orchard and Wheatfield, on the Union line on Cemetery ridge, through the National Cemetery, site of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, and the South and West areas of Gettysburg. ***** The trails are on paved park roads, park trails, road shoulders, and city sidewalks. Strollers will have some difficulty on the portion of the 5K Farnsworth's Cavalry Charge Trail that is natural surface.

Description:

There is a link to the "pool schedule" at www.ywcagettysburg.org . Look for the "Lap Swim Schedule". Generally, it is from 6 am - 9 pm on M to F, 8 am - 4:30 pm on Sat, and 10 am - 4:30 pm on Sunday. Check the schedule as th e pool closes occasionally for maintenance, swim meets, classes, swim team practice, etc.***** The swim will be six laps the length of the pool. The YWCA does not provide towels or locks for the wall lockers.

In addition to the $3 fee for IVV credit, there is an $8 fee paid to the YWCA for the daily pass. The YWCA no longer has their Community Swim on Sat and Sun afternoons but there is no fee to use the YWCA facilities after noon on the third Saturday of each month. The POC has five guest passes that will be given to volks swimmers. You must contact the POC at least two days in advance

Description:

Mon-Fri, 4:30 am-10pm; Sat, 8-5; Sun, 10-5 Closed most holidays. This trail starts at the YWCA. The 25K route is a figure 8 on paved roads around and through the Battlefield and Gettysburg. The 15K route is only half of the figure 8. The 26K route covers most of the major parts of the battlefield and bicycling is an excellent way to tour the battlefield. The 15K route is only thru parts of the battlefield for the first day of the battle and the Spangler Spring/Culps Hill/East Cemetery Hill parts of the battlefield from the second day. You will be bicycling with vehicular traffic

The Gettysburg Battlefield is dominated by hills (Seminary Ridge, Culp's Hill, Little Round Top, etc) and the bike route goes up the hills. Helmets must be worn. ***** the "A" Award is a 4" patch featuring the 1st Minnesota Monument which is passed on the 25K route for the bike ride.
