Our Deepest Presence

As I surrender into the final days or perhaps weeks of my first pregnancy I am reminded of Rumi's wise words. Yoga has taught me to know and trust my body in a way that I wish all pregnant women could feel. So I will allow myself this time of deep patience, deep rest, and deep letting go as I await for the moment my infinitely wise baby makes his or her decision to come into this world. The picture below of me in Side-Lying Rest Pose is my example of how to embody the beauty and feminity of pregnancy with the sweet subtle surrender that Yoga can offer. When it is indeed time I shall discover as Rumi says the presence of my expanding and contracting and be grateful for my body's wisdom and the life that it has created and will soon bring into my arms.

Many blessings to all the mothers and mothers-to-be in the world.
