Place in History - Combat Toyoda is one of the noteworthy monster heels of women’s pro-wrestling in Japan, possessing an understanding of her role and a surprising ability to carry a match.  Aja Kong, whom she broke in with, is noted for many of the attributes that made Toyoda successful in her own right.  She was one of a handful of AJW wrestlers who might have toiled away in the undercard, but instead left and became a key part of FMW.  It was there that she really blossomed into a good worker before her early retirement in 1996. Atsushi Onita was lucky to find her and pair her with Megumi Kudo. While the duo were second class talent with Zenjo, they became genuine stars.  They developed a knack for working good matches with terrible wrestlers, having exceptional matches with outsiders and even better matches with each other.  Kudo was the popular and beautiful babyface and Combat Toyoda was the opposite.  When they began doing death matches, it was a novel concept.  Though Toyoda’s run was cut short, she was the best of Megumi Kudo’s rivals.  In the larger scope of joshi puroresu, Toyoda is generally overlooked because she had little exceptional about her.  She was not as charismatic as Dump Matsumoto, not as good in the ring as Bull Nakano and not the total package that Aja Kong was.  Toyoda was simply a well-rounded heel who made her name in a unique promotion.
