Place in History - Bundy's wrestling success flared quite quickly, but died just as fast. Soon after being discovered, Bundy was in the ring. This explains for his lack of genuine ability, but he was a loud-mouth and massive human, so he was pushed. After a few unsuccessful attempts as a babyface, promoters realized Bundy was born to be a monster heel. He enjoyed heel runs in a few places, notably World Class, where he lost his mop haircut. The wide-framed and bald Bundy had a great early run with WWF. Like other charismatic big men in W/WWF history, Bundy immediately posed a threat. He transitioned from Jimmy Hart to Bobby Heenan and had a run with Hulk Hogan that culminated in the Wrestlemania II Steel Cage main event. After that however, Bundy proved to be the first in a long line of monster heels who were pushed hard and fast and sent down the toilet just as fast. Bundy did make a return however, but in a weak period and he did little more than job to top tier guys. He may not stand out as a great wrestler or even a great star, but King Kong Bundy is certainly a character that many people remember. He is still quite active, in spite of being around fifteen years out of his prime.
