Volunteering Opportunities

Birkenhead Priory

Be part of history at Birkenhead Priory!

We’re looking to expand our volunteer programme at Birkenhead Priory – the oldest freestanding building in Merseyside.

We’re looking for two types of volunteers: General Volunteers and Learning Volunteers

· General Volunteers help visitors to Birkenhead Priory get the most out of their visit. The main purpose of the role is to share information on the story of Birkenhead Priory, helping bring the past alive to visitors in a personal and friendly way.

· Learning Volunteers support our learning and outreach programmes.

In both roles you’ll work with the support of the staff on site and training will be

given to ensure that you have all the information needed for the role.

Key skills we’re looking for in potential volunteers include;

Friendly and outgoing with good people skills

An interest in learning about local history and heritage

Experience of working with children and young people (learning volunteers only)

We run a very friendly programme, with social and research opportunities and you can volunteer as much or as little as you want.

If you’d like the opportunity to meet people, develop your skills and help make history, then please call Kirsty on 07941 260616 for further info or contact us on birkenheadprioryvolunteers@gmail.com
