1. The History of Storeton Woods, Higher Bebington (From Domesday to the present day) : This talk covers the ownership of the area from King William (1066) to today’s owners, The Woodland Trust. It relates to many well-known families and interesting features like a fine sandstone quarry and a tramway.

2. The History of Storeton Quarry and Tramway and Life in Higher Bebington in the 19th Century [This talk follows the old tramway route showing what is visible to-day as evidence of the railway.] (Can be split into two talks i.e. talk number 2 and “The Life in Higher ... ... ...”)

3. The Life and Work of Thomas Brassey (1805 – 1870) Storeton Quarry Manager, Local Benefactor and World Railway Builder – a man who is an unsung hero.

4. New Zealand North Island : Facts and interesting features of the island and a tour of the island.

5. New Zealand South Island : Facts and interesting features of the island and a tour of the island.

6. The Islands of Samoa in the Heart of Polynesia: Facts and interesting features of the island and a tour of the islands.

7. Newfoundland, Canada: A province that is not often visited, with many interesting features.

8. Nova Scotia, Canada : A province that is not often visited, with many interesting features.

9. The Laxey Wheel – a) including technical detail b) non-technical detail - and a tour round the island. The talk has a family connection and is based on the fact that my Grandfather’s Uncle, Robert Casement, was the mining engineer at the Great Laxey mine. He designed and built what was, and still is, the largest working water wheel in the world. The second part of the talk takes a nostalgic trip around the island.

10. Lapland: A visit to see Father Christmas and to spend the day in the area in which he lives.

11. Tasmania around the State Capital, Hobart : Facts and interesting features of the state capital and a tour around the south east of this island.

12. Moscow to St Petersburg by Boat : This illustrates a twelve day cruise on canals, rivers and lakes in western Russia between the two major cities. Usually split into two talks.

13. Cruise to Alaska (via the Inside Passage and five days on land ending at Fairbanks). Usually split into two talks.

14. Norway – Land of the Midnight Sun: A cruise holiday up the West coast of Norway to North Cape.

All the talks last about 50 minutes and all are

fully illustrated with PowerPoint presentations.
