The Backdrops

The Backdrops on the Willow Creek Railroad were hand painted by my lovely wife, Patty. Since we're originally from the Pacific Northwest, the backdrop behind Bucky's Crossing (Latah Pass) is a painting of Mount Rainier in Washington state.

The backdrop behind the South Forks River and Upper Meadows is of more gentle, rolling hills with a gorge that provides the source for the South Forks River.

The backdrop behind the Waverly Yard reflects the area of industries and warehouses typically surrounding railroad facilities in major cities. This backdrop includes clouds and sky painted by my wife, and then images of background buildings mounted on black foam boards and attached to the painted backdrop. (The background building images are from Kings Mill Enterprises, and were created by Chris Wiley.)
